Paglaum Multi Purpose Cooperative celebrates partnership!
One of PMPC's funding partners is VITTANA.
VITTANA is a non-profit organization that designs, launches, and monitors student loan products for financial intermediaries. Vittana works with PMPC to build sustainable student loan programs funded by lenders and donors. To help expand, evaluate and market the Student Education Assistance Loan (SEAL), PMPC's educational program, Miss Kendal Swanson has shared her time and effort as a Vittana Fellow from September 5 to December 22, 2012.
Miss Swanson has given her enormous support in improving the SEAL program and served as a liaison between Vittana and Paglaum Multi Purpose Cooperative.
Another funding partner of PMPC is Kiva.
Kiva is a non-profit organization that aims to alleviate poverty through lending. Kiva offers a lending platform that allows PMPC to post loans on www.kiva.org. These loans are then funded by private individuals (lenders) from across the globe. These lenders receive their funds back as clients make repayments on their loans. The lenders carry the full risk of the loan; if the client does not repay in full, lenders will not receive all of their money back.
As a form of support, Kiva sent Mr. Keith Baillie as PMPC's Fellow for a month from November 21 to December 21, 2012. Mr. Baillie has shared a rare opportunity to put in his skills and expertise and help build Kiva's impact in the field with Paglaum Multi Purpose Cooperative.
Both Fellows were the invited guests to Paglaum @ 20 Celebration. As they culminated their Fellowship to PMPC, they both shared heartwarming messages and bid a sweet farewell.
Miss Kendal Swanson, Vittana Foundation Fellow and Mr. Keith Baillie, Kiva Fellow, daghang salamat!!! Amping kanunay!
